Inspirational Story

Hi friends! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already.

Guess what?! Tomorrow I fly to Florida to see Chris :D. I CANNOT wait to see him! And on that note, I wanted to let you know that I have some fabulous guest posts coming your way while I’m gone. I want to spend as much time with him as possible and not worrying about updating the blog while doing that. I’ll be back on Monday with a recap of my weekend!

Do you ever feel like some obstacles are too hard to overcome?

Maybe you don’t feel prepared to face a certain challenge or things are getting too hard and you think you might have to give up. Perhaps you’re struggling to find the inner strength it takes to overcome a hardship.

Well, if you’ve ever needed some inspiration to overcome an obstacle or work toward achieving something, then this story is it!

Last night I was perusing the CNN website and I came across this story about a quadruple amputee who will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in a couple of months. Not only did I watch the video in that link and read the story, but I also went to the man’s website regarding this journey and I’ve continued to be fascinated – Mission Kilimanjar0. The video below is inspiring as well!

I don’t know about you, but I think what Kyle is doing is incredibly fascinating and completely inspirational. This story really helps me put things into perspective and reminds me that some of what I think of as obstacles are actually mere blips on the radar of my life. This story is also very empowering because it shows that we can actually overcome challenges that we face if we just work hard and put our hearts and minds to it!

I hope you all have an awesome Wednesday and hopefully this story was as inspirational for you as it was for me!

  3. A few weeks ago, the brother of one of my high school classmates died of a head injury he sustained in a car accident. Such a sad, tragic story, but in it, I got to learn a lot more about this young man, and he was exceptional. He was incredibly strong in his faith, and was just a really kind, loving person. His sister even shared a story about how he met a girl in line at Starbucks. She was crying because she was in an abusive relationship and didn’t know where to turn. He asked if he could pray with her and stayed with her for 2 hours just to pray and comfort her. Inspired by him, I decided to run my race this weekend in his honor to raise money for his memorial scholarship fund. Anything to keep his memory alive is worthwhile in my mind!
