Birthday and Tree Lighting

Happy Sunday friends!

I hope you have all been having a great weekend. I know I have :).

Friday night my friends and I celebrated our friend Alicia’s birthday. We decorated our apartment, made some yummy brownies, and went out in downtown Boston.

The birthday girl Alicia!!

And of course I took pictures on public transportation and didn’t take any at the bar. Standard move ;).

Such a fun night! And I was hurtin’ a little bit yesterday morning if ya know what I mean haha. But, I still made it to the gym and powered through a 25 minute run and 20 minutes on the elliptical! It always feels good to get in a nice sweat when you’re hungover. Somehow it makes me feel better!

Yesterday afternoon my friend Kelly and I went downtown Boston to Faneuil Hall for the tree lighting ceremony! I am now officially feeling the holiday spirit :).

The 85-foot tree before it was lit!

Dancers were performing to holiday music!

The tree! Unfortunately the stage was in the way...

Confetti!!

We totally listened to Christmas music on the way home. And then we somehow got lost and ended up having to pay a $3.50 toll. Oh, but wait, neither of us had cash :(. Yea, we weren’t planning on having to pay it…thankfully they just gave me an envelop that I have to send in with the money. Sheesh, that provided some laughs haha.

I’m definitely feeling the need to get back on track with my healthy eating! The past couple of days I’ve been consuming some unhealthy things (thai take out, brownies, booze, etc.). I’m craving some good for you food!

Alrighty friends, I’m off to do lots of laundry and I need to start packing for Thanksgiving break! I hope you all have a great day!

P.S. don’t forget to enter my giveaway!!

  1. looks like a great weekend! a night kicked off by freshly-baked brownies can’t go wrong 😉

Haha, I totally did the same thing and got lost on my way to Boston a few weekends ago, and accidentally came across a toll for which I had no cash. My immediate reaction? Go through the EZPass. Dumb idea, since they will probably send me a fine (though, it’s been weeks and I haven’t gotten one!)… I’m so smart.

  2. LOVE that last coat that you’re wearing!!! Where’s it from?

  3. Aw I wish I was in Boston this weekend! The boy came here instead. The tree lighting would have been so much fun!

  4. What a wonderful weekend! Sweating it out after a night of drinking always makes me feel better too! It doesn’t have to be an intense workout or anything, just get my body moving and I am much better 🙂

I have never been to the lighting but it looks gorgeous! I am so pumped for the holidays 🙂

    • Oh Tessa, I am so pumped for the holidays too! ABC family just started playing their holiday movies…I am kind of loving it 🙂

  5. Sounds like a great weekend! Sometimes it’s totally necessary to have one of those weekends. Props to you for powering through that workout! 🙂

  6. What a fun time! I have never been to a tree lighting ceremony, but now I really want to go! That sounds like the ideal way to kick off the holiday season! Glad you got some good fun time in–you deserved it! 🙂 And I totally agree about post hangover workouts–they do the trick!

  7. Oh I feel you on getting back on the healthy eating train. For some reason, the end of the year always makes me so much more likely to let myself indulge more than usual! From my dessert binge on the cruise, to many froyo visits, to my tortilla chip encounter last night.

I’m choosing to blame it on the holidays 🙂

  8. Aww I love that you guys got in the Christmas spirit! Brandon and I put up our tree yesterday, and I think I have finally got him in the Christmas spirit (at first, he was insisting on waiting until after Thanksgiving haha).

    Have a great Sunday! 🙂

  9. What a fun time! I’m so jealous of you seeing the tree lighting in Boston. My fiance and I love Boston, it’s where we got engaged- I would’ve loved to see that. Thanks for sharing the pics!
