Mix1 Protein Shakes
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that hiking can be challenging! A lot of you do it rather frequently and I’m quite jealous that you are able to! Wednesday was much prettier than Tuesday, so I was able to take some pictures while in the Smoky Mountains:
Um…I’m in love with my new DSLR camera :D.
Last week I was sent some all-natural protein shakes by mix1 to try.
These protein shakes are made with whey protein and other natural ingredients and are great as a pre-workout or a post-workout recovery snack. They contain the proper balance of carbs, protein, and healthy fats that are beneficial to an active body.
The regular protein shakes contain 15g of protein and are around 200 calories, while the lean protein shakes contain 90 calories and 10g of protein. Both types of shakes contain 3g of soluble fiber and 3 servings of fruits and vegetables. Also, they are lactose, soy, gluten and caffeine free!
I have never been a bit protein shake fan because generally these types of products have ingredients in them that aren’t so good for you and their nutrition facts are nothing to be excited about. However when I received these mix1 shakes I was really happy when I looked at the nutrition labels! These shakes are good for you and on top of that- they actually taste good!!
So far, the chocolate and strawberry-banana have been my favorite flavors but in all honesty, all four flavors I was sent (chocolate, strawberry-banana, blueberry, and vanilla) tasted great! These shakes are fabulous for pre and post-workout snacks or for an anytime snack. A couple of times, I had these shakes as my afternoon snack and they kept me full and satisfied :).
I sometimes struggle to find midday snacks that have enough protein to keep my full and these shakes definitely helped me on that front! The regular ones can be consumed on their own while you can have the lean ones (90 calories) in combination with something else.
I’m really glad that I found was sent these shakes to try! They taste good, are made with healthy and natural ingredients, and have a winning combination of fats, carbs, and protein- talk about a great drink! Another cool thing is that while you can order these shakes online, you can also buy them in grocery stores such as Whole Foods, Kroger, Publix, etc. I highly suggest that you give them a try!!
And I just had to show you a couple of the cute pics I took of my dog, Mia, yesterday 😛
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
**Please note: I was sent mix1 protein shakes to review and was not compensated. Any and all opinions are my own!
Are you a fan of protein shakes? What types?
Have you ever tried mix1?? What did you think?
