Blog Feature Idea

Hi everyone

I’m sad today…I mentioned back in August that my grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer and that it was bad. Yesterday he was given 1-3 weeks to live at the most :(. Things are bad, but thankfully hopsice has come in and they are trying to make him as comfortable as possible.

I so wish that I was back home right now so that I could see him one last time and let him know that I love him. I wish I could be there for my grandmother in some way. It hadn’t really hit me that he was actually going to be gone until yesterday when I got the call from my mom. I mean, I knew that he was, but the reality of the situation hadn’t quite sunk in until now.

Please keep my grandpa, grandma, and family in your thoughts and prayers. This is going to be a really sad and trying time.

And please, let the people in your life know that you love them! That is really and truly what matters- the relationships that we have with our loved ones.

I love you all, and could not be more thankful and amazed at this wonderful community and how I have been welcomed with open and loving arms! ❤

Okay, in order to keep my mind on other things I want to ask your opinion on something! I’m thinking of starting a weekly feature on my blog that will highlight workouts or different exercises!

Each week I will feature my favorite workout from that week or my favorite move- I will post either the workout, pictures, or a video. Then you guys can do the same and link up with my post! Sort of in the style of “What I Ate Wednesday” but it will be your favorite exercise or workout that you’ve done that week.

The whole idea for this is to have a bunch of workouts and moves located in one place, but also to build a greater sense of community in the blog world amongst us fitness lovers! I think it would be a great way to compile all of the awesome workouts/moves that bloggers create because I know that sometimes they it can be easy to lose track of workouts that you see and like!

What do you all think? Would you like this? Would you participate?

**And be sure to enter my Handful Sports Bra giveaway! It ends tonight at 10pm!**

  6. Sorry about your grandpa, Lindsay. I will be praying. 😦

Regarding your link-up idea, I would definitely check it out every week. I wouldn’t be able to add my own ideas all the time, just because I don’t have a whole lot of original work-out ideas haha! But I bet I can find ways to contribue every now and then! 😉

(Does lifting a gallon of ice cream to my mouth over and over again count as a workout? 😉 )

  7. I’d link up the Tuesday TRainer workout for sure!!

  8. whoops! hit submit too soon. also wanted to tell you i’m thinking of you 😦 so sorry to hear about your grandpa.. xoxo

  13. Hey girl, really love the idea!

I’m keeping you and your grandpa in my thoughts, my grandma had lung cancer and she passed away quickly after being diagnosed as well. It’s amazing how fast that particular type of cancer takes its toll. I wish you the best.

  14. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I lost my dad suddenly 3 years ago and still hurts. Even if you can’t be there with them, I know your grandma & grandpa know you love them very, very much. You all are in my prayers.

  15. I am so sorry to hear about your grandpa! It is so hard losing a loved one. I live about 4 hours away from my family and 2 years ago my grandma passed away over night. It is so hard not being there to see them for the last time, to be there with your family during the initial moment. It’s sad that it takes moments like these to make us realize how important family is, to remind you to always keep them in your thoughts and to make sure they know so. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Now after the sadness, I do think that is a GREAT idea! I love seeing all the good eats of the everyone’s week and love trying out some of them. I think the workout would be a great spinoff!!! You should go for it!

  16. Your grandfather is certainly in my thoughts and prayers now Lindsay… I am so so sorry, stay strong though ❤
