Boston Blogger Meet Up and New Strength Workout

Hi everyone!!

I had an AMAZING night last night. I met some awesome bloggers from the Boston area :).

Tracy, Amy, Tessa, Sarah, Sara, and I all met at the J.P. Licks in Davis Square for ice cream! We had such a great time! We were there for about an hour just chatting away about a bunch of different things. I had “known” Tessa and Sara before this from reading their blogs and was beyond excited to meet them in person! Β It was also so much fun meeting Tracy, Amy, and Sarah, and I can’t wait to start reading their blogs!

My ice cream was fabulous :). Tessa told me that she had gotten the oatmeal cookie fro-yo before and that it was delicious. I trusted her input and decided to go for it as well. Um….GOOD CHOICE. It actually tasted like an oatmeal cookie!

Meeting bloggers in person is such a strange experience because you feel like you know so many personal things about them, but then you have to figure out how to act toward them in real life and it can feel kind of awkward. But I still love it :D. Each one of these girls were amazing and so incredibly kind and fun! I’m sad that I won’t be able to continue meeting up with them but I’m also so thankful that we were able to do this before I move home.

Amy, Me, Tracy, Sara, and Tessa!

I’m so happy that we met up ladies!! And Tessa, yay for our idea to get together :D….and I was totally serious when I said you should come visit Ohio and take a trip with me to Cedar Point hehe.

Anyway…I also have a new strength workout for you all! This was the workout I completed on Tuesday. After taking a good 4-day break from exercise I was ready for something challenging and this workout definitely provided that!

This workout not only challenges your strength, but also your endurance! There were several times that my heart rate was going so fast that I had to take a break. Other than that though, my body felt great and it was nice to work it hard! I think the most challenging things for me were the assisted pull-ups…I could barely make it through the final 10 reps. Needless to say, my back was feeling it yesterday haha.

I also think I’m getting much better at my new way of working out. I’ve been doing 2-3 more intense workouts a week, yet they are shorter than they used to be. The other workouts I do are much lighter and I try not to freak out if I don’t get in 6 days of exercise. It’s been mentally challenging but as I keep doing it and I notice that nothing is changing about my body, those thoughts are not as frequent or as intense (thank goodness!). I just hope that this is something that I can continue with and that I won’t “fall off the bandwagon” so to speak. I don’t want to go back to where I was pushing myself too hard, too often!

Anyway, sorry for rambling. I hope you all have a great day!

  5. How fun! I wish I could have been there for the meet-up!! And my goodness, Tessa is so gorgeously tall! You were taller than me, and you look like a shorty next to her! πŸ˜‰ I’m so jealous, as I was not given the gift of height haha!

    • I’m so sad you weren’t able to come! Unfortunately I’ll be moving home to Ohio on Monday, but I know the other girls are planning on meeting up again so you should try to go!

      • Stellina @ My Yogurt Addiction

Boooo! Good luck with your move, I have a friend in Cleveland and my boyfriends brother lives there too…it’s so hard to be away from family so I know what you mean!

  9. What a fun meetup! That ice cream sounds amazing. I had “luscious lemon” froyo yesterday mixed with a little tart. It was delicious.

    I love Cedar Point!!!!!!!!!

    • Oooo that fro-yo sounds super tasty! We should go to Cedar Point sometime!! It’s one of my favorite places ever πŸ˜€

  10. I’ve never tried oatmeal cookie froyo, that sounds delicious!!!

  11. I had such a great time last night — good luck with the move Lindsay!

  12. So jealous of the meet up and the fro yo! Both looked like an amazing time! I LOVE cedar point. I haven’t been in years, but my family used to go every year back in the day. Ahh, America’s Roller Coast πŸ™‚

  13. Hey Lindsay! That blogger meetup looks fun! I’ve never met anyone in real life that I know through blogging but hopefully I will someday! I’m so thankful for the friends I’ve made through the blog world πŸ™‚

I have a question about fitfluential – I sort of considered joining, but I wasn’t sure since I’m not a personal trainer and I’m not a fitness professional by any means. Is it still okay to join?

  14. what a FUN time! i’m so glad you gals were able to meet up. i recognize tessa and sarah from the bunch, but i’m looking forward to checking out some new blogs now!

  15. That looks like so much fun! I havent had a blogger meet up in far too long – but the three Ive had have all been incredible. I know what you mean about it being just slightlyy awkward that you already know SO much about them!

And killer workout. I might go do it now after class!

  16. Ahh I wish I was in Boston so I could’ve met you all 😦 Looks like tons of fun though! Nothing better than stalking people for so long online and finally getting to meet them in real life hehe πŸ˜€

  17. Aww, how fun!!! Totally typical blogger date, but I love it πŸ™‚ Diggin’ the workout, too, girl!

  18. That sounds like such a fun weekend! How awesome that there are so many bloggers up in Boston! I wish I could have met all of you girls! I haven’t met any other bloggers yet, but I can imagine at first it would be so weird, because you only know them online. Great job with your workouts! I’m also doing shorter workouts, and trying not to stress too much if I end up missing a day or two. In the end, 2 days doesn’t really matter anyways.

  19. I love those pictures of you girls! Sure wish I were there πŸ˜‰ I love meeting other bloggers too πŸ™‚ So much fun! I am meeting a few more this summer. I just met one before I left London! Once you start meeting bloggers you just cannot stop πŸ˜‰ Are you going to the Healthy Living Summit in Boston? I AM! I HOPE you are πŸ˜€

    Love you missy

P.s. so happy your new workout regimen is working out well πŸ™‚ I am here if you need anything my dear xo

    • OOo I have to think about HLS…it will depend on finances at the time!! Love u too! πŸ˜€ And thank you so much girl ❀

  20. SOOO great!! Glad to see you all had fun! And hello again πŸ™‚

  21. That oatmeal cookie froyo sounds so good ! I wish they had that flavor at any of my local froyo places! It’s always fun to meet up with bloggers…and you’re right, it’s weird because you feel like you KNOW them but sometimes it’s tough figuring out how to approach them in person!

  22. Ah so fun! Of course it figures that you are going back to Ohio just when I’ve moved away from the Midwest! 😦

  23. How fun! I love blogger meet-ups (even more so when fro-yo is involved!)

  24. Looks like you had a good time! We should have a blogger meet-up in the Midwest when you move back home. Indiana isn’t too far from Ohio!

  25. It was just so wonderful to meet you Lindsay, and of course the other fabulous ladies too! I love your description of a blogger meet up, totes awks at first and then it really is fine! I am going to see you again m’dear, Cedar Point or BUST πŸ™‚

  26. Yay for blogger meet-ups! I should have tried a smaller one like that before Blend haha! And I totally get your awkward feeling…like what do you ask them? Where are you from? What do you do for a living? What’s your favorite color? You probably know all these things if you read their blog haha!

  27. Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance

Aw! I wish I could have been there for the meetup! Well, for the meetup and also for some of that ice cream– it looks HEAVENLY.

We missed you last night in the chat! Hope you had a great evening with your Boston girls ❀

  28. Looks like fun meet-up! I love meeting fellow bloggers πŸ™‚ Totally pinned that workout!

  29. Pinning the workout. OMG that fro yo is insanity. I seriously need to get myself to Fro Yo tonight.

  30. I JUST joined FitFluential this week and I LOVE being part of such a cool community πŸ™‚

I’m going to Boston for a family reunion this fall!!! I hope I can see some bloggers while I’m there πŸ™‚

  31. Mmm, that fro-yo looks good, and I’m not even a big fro-yo fan! As for the workouts, I didn’t start working out 6 days/week until I got into blogging. I was always a 5/week girl, and you know what, I was just as thin as now. I guess I was probably just as fit too!

    • Yea I don’t know where I got it in my head that 6 days was a must…I think my body would much prefer 5 haha

  32. Despite being an introvert, I can’t wait to meet other bloggers one day. I love our community and support system! I’m glad you had fun!

  33. What a fun meetup! I’ll have to check out their blogs! I have been doing lighter workouts too. We need to chat about that!
