Do Anywhere Tabata Workout
Hi everyone!!
I have a new workout for you all today! On Sunday morning, Chris and I decided to complete a tabata workout outside. We took turns making up the moves and it ended up being soooo hard! And considering it was a bit warm outside, I was dripping with sweat after the second one haha. It also takes a lot for Chris to sweat and he was hardcore sweating at the end of it! I’d say that means the workout was nice and challenging ;).
Here are descriptions of some of the moves or links to them:
- Step jumps
- Reverse lunge to front kick: complete a reverse lunge and then jump into a front kick with the opposite leg (the leg that kicks to the front is the one that is the front leg in your leg)
- Sprint step toe taps
- Hand walks
- Side step jumps: similar to a step jump, except you jump sideways up to a step and then back down
- Wide high knees – complete these in place instead of moving forward
- Hot and colds
- Up/down plank
- Forward and backward sprints
- Plank pike jumps
- Scissors with a twist
- Bird dogs on hands and feet
Sadly, Chris had to leave today, but it was SO incredibly awesome to spend a couple of days with him :D. Hopefully today will consist of laying out at the beach…although my shoulders are a bit burnt so we’ll see how long that lasts. I hope you all have a great one!

that looks awesome!! def need to try that next time i don’t feel like going to the gym and am in my basement!!
Looks like a great high intensity workout! Nice for the days when I just want to stay home and do something instead of trudging on the elliptical or treadmill.
You two are so adorable 🙂 And what an awesome butt-kicking workout too Lindsay, no wonder you both got a bit sweaty! Enjoy the rest of your day dear!
Thank you Tessa!!!
You guys are so cute together! I am so jealous that you are away! That looks like a killer workout too!
SO happy you go to spend time with Chris AND workout with him!? SO AMAZING!
Love you girl xx
Haha I know :). Love you too!! xxoo
The workout looks like a killer one. I love that it can be done anywhere/anytime. My husband and I usually have “date nights” at the gym, but with our current work schedules, that hasn’t happened. I think I may suggest this workout to him – we can do it at home. Thanks for always inspiring others.
Aww if you two do it together, I hope you enjoy it!!
Well, hello, little miss hottie in your workout gear! 😉 You and Chris are too darn cute. Great job with the workout! You need to come visit so you can push me on my workouts! 😉
Haha thank you Kristen :). I’ll gladly come visit you! And maybe after a nice workout we can get some tasty fro-yo 😉
Is it odd that I like the sound of “dripping sweat” – haha, now I really want to try it! Pinning so I remember to do it later. 🙂
Hahaha not odd at all…because I like it too! I think I was actually going to use those words more in the post and then decided that I didn’t want to go overboard with it
Love this!! Will definitely be trying it this week. Thanks, Lindsay, and enjoy the rest of your trip!
Thank you so much Michelle! I hope you’re having a great week and I hope you enjoy it 😀
I did a tabata yesterday too except I do the same exercise for all 8 repeats, rest 1 minute, then do it again with a new exercise. Never thought about doing a modified tabata and switching up the exercises. Tabatas make me sweat and SORE!
Yea it makes them go by so much faster because you get to switch things around!
Love this workout…I think I might try it tomorrow!
Sweet. Pinned. Love having these workouts at my disposal when I want a quick workout at home.
Looks like an intense workout. Saving it 🙂
You are too cute! I wanna work out with you! 🙂 Glad you are having fun. It rained here this am, but it was ok b/c I’m a little burnt. 🙂
I totally wanna workout with you too!! I’m a little burnt as well…I’m kinda glad that we got out of the sun this afternoon!
I love that you’re into my fave hot and colds. 😉
Haha totally love them…and I learned them from you 😀
Awesome workout!!! Totally bookmarking this 😀
couples tabata session! WOO HOO! Love it linz. You guys look strong.
Thanks Linds!!
Great post… i have been working some of these moves into my runs between miles… maybe those need a new name RunBata?
Haha I love it!! You should totally call them that. And seriously…throwing those moves into your runs has to be so intense! Awesome work 🙂
Too bad Chris has to go, but at least you got in some quality time with him! Love this workout! I heart tabata! And since I workout at home most the time, this is perfect! You guys look so great together 🙂
I love Tabata workouts! This is definitely one to pin. 🙂
It’s great that you and your Chris work out together!!
I go to the gym all the time with my bf but we don’t really workout together. I think it’s a great bonding activity for couples though!
YEY! I’m happy you posted this because I was just on the lookout for a workout to do today! 😀
awesome workout!
Wow! Looks like an intense & amazing workout! I tried my first tabata workout at NYSC (UXF class) on Monday and I’m going again tonight. It definitely kicked my tush but didnt offer as much variety as you included above. I will absolutely try out this workout!
Love this tabata – great workout, Lindsay! Pinning now! 😀 (and so glad you got to spend some time together!)
This looks like a great workout–I can’t wait to try it out! Thanks so much for sharing! 😀
